Does your kitchen or bathroom feel a little dated? Feeling the itch to remodel or refresh rooms in your Alabama home? Looking to incorporate some of the hottest design trends into your upcoming remodel? The first step is to figure out the look you want. And that’s how we can help

Check out these four popular interior design trends that are popping up everywhere. You may even find some style inspiration for your new space.

COASTAL GRANDMOTHER

Have you ever watched a Nancy Meyers movie and thought, “I could live in that kitchen”? If the answer is Y-E-S (and yes, in all caps), then the Coastal Grandmother look might be the look for you.

Coastal Grandmother consists of whites and blues, with a few natural elements thrown in here and there. Think white walls with rattan or wicker furniture or natural wood floors that contrast nicely with white furniture or cabinets. It’s cozy, crisp, and clean all at the same time.

DARK ACADEMIA

If the words light and bright don’t really describe your style, then the Dark Academia look may do the trick. The Dark Academia look consists of dark woods, heavy velvets, and dramatic wall colors. Rooms tend to be moody yet intimate, with unique decor pieces throughout.

MAXIMALISM

We’ve all heard of Minimalism, but have you heard of its fun and over-the-top opposite, Maximalism?

Maximalism is mixing your grandmother’s China cabinet with the rug from your first apartment, and pairing art pieces you’ve collected throughout the years with that new bright green chair you just had to have. This trend intentionally blends color, pattern, and one-of-a-kind pieces into a design that works just for you.

COTTAGECORE

We really think the name says it all with this trend–and that’s a good thing! If florals, plaids, and vintage finds are your vibe, then Cottagecore is the “it” trend for you.

Cottagecore rooms lend themselves to be quaint and cozy. Our favorite example is Ms. Honey’s cottage in the movie Matilda!
